area
Whitesands:
The most heavily developed area of the island and consequently the most
expensive. Rare to find bargains here as available land is very
limited. Cheaper land available inland in Klong Son to the north
and Pearl Beach to the south. Prices for titled land are in the
15-20 million baht/rai range. Klong Son, 1.5-4 million baht/rai. South
on Pearl Beach, 8-10 million baht/rai.

View housing development on Chang Noi Beach has plots of Chanote titled land and houses
from 3.5 million - 40 million baht
Klong Prao:
Koh Chang's longest and best 'package tour' beach. Look at Klong Prao
for available 'chanote' land, i.e. land suitable for hotel, restaurant
or business use. Land is averaging 6 or 7 million baht/rai by
the roadside.
Kai Bae: The
area inland, behind the village & nestled at the foot of the hills, is
ideal for building a house in a quiet location. The busy beach is
only 15 minutes walk away. Budget around 1 - 2 million baht /rai for
agricultural (non business use) land here. The only
available beachfront land is priced at 13 million/rai.
Bangbao:
This fishing village and surrounding area have the cheapest land prices
on the west coast. Renovated & unrenovated houses in the village
sometimes come up for sale. Land averages 3 -4 million baht/rai,
unrenovated houses 2 million baht / renovated 6 million baht upwards.
One housing development - Tranquility Bay
Residence, luxury condominiums and beachfront villas from 5.7 million
baht to over 55 million baht
East coast:
The administrative area of the island and home to locals. Quiet, with limited tourist
development due to the red sand beaches and distance from 'touristy'
areas of the island. Mainly
inhabited by local fruit farmers and fishermen. Plots of seafront land
suitable for housing still available. Beachfront,
titled land from 3-5 million baht/rai. One housing development -
Baan Talay Thai
Salakphet &
Salakkok: Two large bays, both ideal for tourist related activities
but as yet relatively undeveloped. Great mountain, mangrove and island
views from these areas of Koh Chang. Beautifully located,
unrenovated fisherman's houses can be found for as little as 600,000 baht. 'Chanote'
titled land from 1.5 million baht/rai. One housing development -
